Accurate signs of pregnancy in the early stages. What symptoms appear in the first days of pregnancy Early pregnancy symptoms and signs

After conception, physiological changes occur in a woman’s body, which are manifested by unusual symptoms. At the very beginning, these manifestations are weak, not all women pay attention to them. However, it is useful to know about the most typical first signs of pregnancy so as not to confuse this condition with a common illness and not to proceed with treatment that could harm the unborn baby. The first weeks of intrauterine development are a very crucial period, so it is important for a woman to find out about her situation before the delay occurs.

In the first weeks of embryo development, the most important organs are formed. Incorrect behavior of the mother (excessively intense sports, increased nervousness, drinking alcohol, smoking) can have a detrimental effect on the health of the unborn baby. Infectious diseases pose a particular danger.

A woman who wants to give birth to a healthy baby must introduce some restrictions into her life from the very first days of pregnancy. She needs to stop drinking alcohol, as well as strong coffee, and should take a more responsible approach to nutrition. Pregnant women should not be nervous or overexert themselves physically. If you feel unwell and have to see a doctor, you need to warn him about your possible condition so that he takes it into account when prescribing medications.

Conception may also be unplanned (for example, contraception was unsuccessful or the woman made a mistake in calculating safe days). The first signs will indicate that an unexpected event has occurred; she should be careful not to harm the baby. If a woman does not intend to give birth, she will be able to have an early abortion, avoid toxicosis and other ailments that have to be endured before having a regular abortion at a later date.

When do the first symptoms appear?

Fertilization of the egg occurs only after ovulation, which in a 28-day cycle occurs approximately in the middle. There may be slight deviations in the timing of conception due to the presence of individual physiological characteristics in women, as well as the existence of differences in sperm activity in men. However, we can say with confidence that there is no point in trying to detect reliable signs earlier than a week after sexual intercourse.

When is it appropriate to do the test?

If you use the test earlier, the result may be false negative. That is, conception has occurred, but the level of the hormone secreted by the embryo (hCG) is still too low. More expensive inkjet tests have the greatest accuracy. It is necessary to strictly follow the instructions, since if done incorrectly, the result may be false positive.

Blood test for hCG

A reliable result of a hormone test can be obtained only 10-12 days after sexual intercourse. The fertilized egg must have time to gain a foothold in the uterus, only after this the chorion (embryonic membrane) begins to secrete hCG ( human chorionic gonadotropin person). Each week of pregnancy corresponds to a certain level of the hormone, higher than in non-pregnant women.

However, this sign is not absolutely accurate, since an increase in hormone levels occurs not only during pregnancy, but also with kidney disease or diabetes.

Signs of pathological pregnancy

If the test gives a positive result, and the hCG test shows its content in the blood is below normal, this indicates that the pregnancy is ectopic. It is especially dangerous when the fetus begins to develop in the uterine tube. A condition in which a pipe ruptures is life-threatening for a woman. Therefore, it is necessary to identify such a pathology as early as possible and remove the fetus. Signs of improper attachment of the embryo include the appearance of cramping pain on one side of the lower abdomen, as well as spotting.

A frozen pregnancy is possible, when the embryo stops developing and dies, but a miscarriage does not occur; the fetus also has to be surgically removed. This pathology occurs if a woman has polycystic ovary syndrome or an increased level of androgens in the body. An early sign of a frozen pregnancy is low hCG level in the blood.

There is such an anomaly as false pregnancy. Moreover, the signs are so real that it is difficult to dissuade a woman from her self-hypnosis.

Early signs of conception

All signs of pregnancy that appear before a missed period are not absolutely reliable; they only allow us to make an assumption about its likely occurrence.

These include the following manifestations:

  1. Nausea, vomiting and other symptoms of toxicosis. They appear approximately 3-4 weeks after conception. At this time, a woman develops intolerance to certain odors (for example, perfume aromas or the smell of meat broth), as well as unusual taste preferences (love for pickles, sweets).
  2. Drowsiness and fatigue, decreased blood pressure, inability to concentrate, weakened memory.
  3. Frequent mood changes. The desire to cry over the most insignificant things.
  4. Change in the nature of discharge. If a woman is not pregnant, then before the onset of menstruation, the leucorrhoea becomes scantier and thicker. After fertilization has occurred, the level of progesterone (the corpus luteum hormone that remains in the ovary after ovulation) remains high. Thanks to this, the work of the cervical glands that produce mucus is activated. Discharge literally from the first days of pregnancy becomes abundant, transparent and liquid.
  5. Implantation bleeding. Droplets of blood may briefly appear in the discharge. In this case, a particularly sensitive woman feels a slight nagging pain in the lower abdomen. Such symptoms occur when the fertilized egg implants into the endometrium of the uterus. If bleeding occurs immediately before or coincides with your expected period, it is sometimes mistaken for menstruation. In other cases, women mistake them for intermenstrual bleeding. You need to know that pregnancy can be assumed if such “menstruation” is too scanty and short-lived.
  6. Swelling and tenderness of the mammary glands. Changes in their condition occur immediately after conception. Before the delay, the skin around the nipple may darken, and the tubercles on the areola become more noticeable. Sometimes a clear yellowish discharge from the nipple (colostrum) appears.
  7. Constipation, feeling of fullness in the lower abdomen.
  8. Increased urination, cystitis. With the onset of pregnancy, women's immunity sharply decreases. In this way, the body “adapts” to the new state, doing everything to prevent fetal rejection. Decreased immune defense leads to increased susceptibility to bacteria and viruses. Therefore, at the very beginning of pregnancy, the inflammatory processes(particularly in the bladder). Colds may become more frequent.

Note: Do not forget that these signs are non-specific. Nausea and vomiting can also occur with intestinal diseases (gastritis, colitis), poisoning, and strong emotions. Odor intolerance occurs even with the flu. Craving for sweets occurs during nervous stress.

It is important not to confuse changes in the mammary glands with symptoms of diseases. If the pain becomes obsessive, lumps appear, and the skin of the breast turns red, you should definitely visit a mammologist.

Basal temperature

One of the first signs of pregnancy is the constancy of a woman’s basal temperature after conception. True, it can only be detected if the measurements were carried out for a long time (over several cycles) in the previous period.

Basal temperature is measured rectally. This allows us to exclude the influence of various external factors on the indicators. The procedure is carried out in the morning at the same time. In this case, the woman must still be in bed. By changing the temperature you can find out when ovulation occurred, since at this moment it reaches a maximum (37°). If fertilization does not occur, the temperature decreases. And if conception has occurred, it remains slightly elevated.

Thrush in early pregnancy

A natural decrease in immunity can provoke the appearance or exacerbation of thrush. The occurrence of the disease is also facilitated by changes in the state of the vaginal microflora due to an increase in the volume of discharge. The lack of beneficial lactobacilli leads to the proliferation of Candida fungi in the body.

However, not all pregnant women develop thrush. It all depends on the state of the immune system and the characteristics of the hormonal shifts occurring in the body. Therefore, the presence of thrush cannot be considered a reliable way to establish the fact of conception.

If the pregnancy is not only planned, but also long-awaited, then the woman is almost always eager to find out about her situation as soon as possible. Sometimes this is necessary for medical reasons, for example, if tests show a low level of progesterone and in order to maintain the vital activity of the fertilized egg, you need to start taking a synthetic analogue of this hormone as soon as possible.

The peculiarity of the first signs of pregnancy in the early stages is that most of them cannot say with one hundred percent probability that the woman is really expecting a child.

After ovulation, there comes a period when the expectant mother begins to sensitively listen to any, even the slightest, changes in her well-being, which can sometimes indicate problems with the gastrointestinal tract, pathologies of the reproductive system, or hormonal changes in the second phase of the cycle.

Signs of pregnancy in the early stages - 1 week

You may have heard from someone that a woman felt the first symptoms of her new position literally in the first hours after intercourse. Such statements give hope, but from a medical point of view they are implausible.

Even in the earliest stages, the first signs of pregnancy appear only when female body begins to produce the hormone hCG.

After fertilization, the fertilized egg must travel from the fallopian tubes to the uterus. This journey takes him several days (from 3 to 12), roughly 1 week. Once in the uterus, the embryo is implanted into the mucous membrane of one of its walls and only after that the pregnancy hormone begins to be produced.

But in the first hours its concentration is too low for the woman’s body to begin to somehow react to changes in endocrine status. Must pass at least 24 – 26 hours, when the concentration of hCG increases so much that some changes occur in the state of health.

Thus, the earliest changes that the expectant mother can feel will occur only after at least 4 days after conception, and then only if the fertilized egg reaches the uterus from the fallopian tubes in 3 days.

A woman is able to notice the following signs of pregnancy in the earliest stages of the 1st week:

  • Changes from the BT schedule: The temperature does not fall below 37 degrees; it may show a sharp drop for a day and an equally sharp rise to its previous position. This behavior of the graph is called implantation retraction. But it doesn’t happen to all women.
  • Changes in the state of the gastrointestinal tract: Heartburn may occur. Those who have suffered from it before will notice its intensification, and those who have not had such problems before will notice a short-term appearance of this condition.
  • Changes in hCG levels: the very first blood test for hCG can be taken only on the seventh day after ovulation. Even if the fertilized egg reaches the uterus in the shortest possible time (3 days), the doubling of hCG concentration occurs only once every two days.
  • Change in appetite: an indirect sign of pregnancy can be a sharp increase in appetite at the end of the first week after conception. But it can also be a reaction to an increase in the concentration of progesterone in the blood.

The test may not show pregnancy yet!

In the second week after ovulation, the process of moving the fertilized egg from the fallopian tubes to the uterus is completed. And in those women in whom it was implanted on the third, fourth or fifth day, the concentration of hCG increases so much that the signs of pregnancy intensify and increase in number, even though the test is still negative.

  • Change from the BT schedule: the temperature continues to remain elevated; an increase of 0.2 - 0.3 degrees may be observed. Towards the end of the second week there is no decrease, which usually foreshadows the imminent onset of menstruation.
  • Changes in hCG levels: in the second week from conception, a blood test will already show an increase in the level of the pregnancy hormone, which will give the most reliable answer to the question of whether it was possible to conceive a child. If necessary, you can monitor hCG over time by taking a test every 2 days.
  • Change in appetite: the feeling of hunger intensifies in the evening, sometimes the expectant mother may feel hungry even at night and go to empty the refrigerator. Moreover, already at this time a craving for a specific product may appear.
  • The appearance of unusual sensations in the pelvic area: by the end of the second week, a woman may begin to feel unusual warmth (even heat) in the lower abdomen. This is due to two factors: implantation of the fertilized egg stimulated increased blood flow to the pelvis, and to this is added the increased work of the corpus luteum, which is now responsible for feeding the developing embryo.
  • Breast changes: By the 14th day after ovulation, the breasts become painful to the touch. In about half of pregnant women, this pain is felt on both sides, starting from the armpits. This is due to increased blood flow to the mammary glands.
  • Change in cervical mucus: in the second week the nature of the discharge can be interpreted as early sign pregnancy. They intensify, become translucent, but do not have any specific odors.

Symptoms in the 3rd week from conception

During the third week, signs begin to appear in those women whose fertilized egg reached the uterus at a later date and implantation occurred later. At the beginning of this period, most expectant mothers notice a delay in their menstruation and, before buying a test, begin to pay closer attention to the changes that occur in their body.

At this time there are two signs that can be confidently called reliable confirmation of the fact of conception:

  1. HCG analysis: if the dynamics are good, the doctor can determine the pregnancy as uterine.
  2. Result of ultrasound examination: on ultrasound, signs of pregnancy in the early stages are displayed in the form of a “lush” layer of the endometrium, a functioning corpus luteum and the presence of a dark spot in the body of the uterus measuring 2 - 3 mm in diameter (embryo and its fetal membranes).

In addition, there are also a number of symptoms that may indirectly indicate the presence of pregnancy:

  • Changes in the mammary glands: the breasts are full, painful to the touch. The veins on it become clearly visible, and at times it seems as if heat is emanating from it. However, this symptom may not be observed in everyone. Some women do not feel pain at all and do not notice an increase in the volume of the mammary glands in the first trimester.
  • Changes in the gastrointestinal tract: at the end of the 3rd week, toxicosis may begin, since by this time the level of hCG increases so much that the body can react to it in the same way as to intoxication. If there is no nausea, then the appetite that plagued the pregnant woman before her missed period does not decrease. Predilections for a particular product may become more pronounced.
  • Change in the nature of cervical mucus: the discharge changes from watery to thicker and acquires a yellowish tint. This is due to an increase in progesterone levels.
  • Changes in the central nervous system: a woman may notice unusual drowsiness. There will be a desire to sleep during the day, or there will be an urge to go to bed early and get up later in the morning. Mood swings become noticeable, tearfulness, short temper appear, or vice versa - imperturbable calm and tranquility.

General manifestations for the 2nd phase of the cycle and pregnancy

All signs of pregnancy in the early stages, both before and after the delay, are relative (except for hCG and ultrasound).

If a woman is not planning to conceive a child for the first month, then she can often mistakenly rely on symptoms that are also characteristic of the second phase menstrual cycle in the absence of pregnancy:

  • Elevated temperature on the BT chart. It is not at all necessary that it indicates conception - it can only indicate that there is no insufficiency of the second phase.
  • Breast tenderness. The mammary glands may also hurt before menstruation. The venous network on them may also become brighter before the start of menstruation.
  • Increased appetite. For many women, food cravings are a common symptom of the natural rise in progesterone after ovulation.

It is also worth saying that it is absolutely pointless to do any pregnancy tests earlier than 10 days after the date of expected conception.

Even if hCG is present, before the specified period its concentration in the urine will not yet reach the level to which the test systems can respond.

Of course, pregnancy is a wonderful time for everyone. expectant mother. Sometimes a woman may plan to have a baby, but there are times when pregnancy comes as an unexpected surprise to her.

One way or another, having learned about the new period of her life, a woman needs to keep the child and provide herself with reliable protection from diseases and negative factors.

Why is it so important to recognize pregnancy early?

Very often situations arise when spouses did not plan to conceive a child in the near future, but fertilization nevertheless occurred for one reason or another. Of course, no matter how healthy a woman is, she will have to reconsider her lifestyle as a whole.

It is extremely important to recognize pregnancy at the earliest stages so as not to harm the fetus or jeopardize its full development.

Several facts confirm the need to recognize pregnancy at an early stage:

  • the conception was unplanned, and the expectant mother had already consumed foods harmful to the fetus, or had subjected the body to severe physical stress;
  • the woman had contraindications to conceiving a child before becoming pregnant;
  • the expectant mother may mistake the opening bleeding for the onset of menstruation;
  • without knowing about pregnancy, a woman can continue taking medicines which are prohibited in the first trimester;
  • Timely registration will help identify existing fetal pathologies at an early stage.

The first trimester of pregnancy is the most important period of fetal development. It is extremely important to get rid of all negative influences on the child as early as possible. The sooner a woman finds out about pregnancy, the higher the likelihood that it will proceed without complications.

It is important that a specialist will identify genetic developmental abnormalities at an early stage.

What are the symptoms during early pregnancy?

The completed process of fertilization is the reason for the beginning of hormonal changes in the woman’s body. The hormonal changes that occur during this period radically change the condition of the expectant mother.

This period of time is very difficult to diagnose; in some women it is completely asymptomatic. But, as a rule, already in the first days after implantation of the embryo, many expectant mothers already notice the onset of an “interesting situation”.

Symptoms of early pregnancy are:

Many expectant mothers do not experience traditional manifestations of the onset of a new period for her, and it also happens that there are no symptoms at all throughout the entire period.

As a rule, only the early stages of pregnancy have such dull symptoms; after a short period of time, the baby will remind itself more and more often and more intensely.

It should be remembered that the appearance of at least one early sign is a signal that it is time to get rid of bad habits and stress, normalize your diet and stop taking any medications. It is also mandatory for a woman to register and be monitored by a gynecologist.

What are the symptoms during pregnancy?

After the completion of implantation of the fertilized egg, all systems of the woman’s body undergo hormonal changes. During this period, symptoms appear, with the occurrence of which the expectant mother will hardly be able to doubt the onset of an “interesting” situation for her.

Symptoms during pregnancy:

You can often hear among pregnant women that the symptoms cause them a lot of discomfort. But any negative sign can brighten up the thought that soon all this will end and a baby will be born.

What are the symptoms of an ectopic pregnancy in the early stages?

An ectopic pregnancy is a pregnancy pathology in which a fertilized egg is implanted not in the uterus itself, but outside it. This pathological condition is very dangerous and requires urgent help from specialists. It threatens not only damage to the female internal genital organs, but also the onset of bleeding.

Several signs that distinguish a normal pregnancy from an ectopic one:

  • pregnancy tests give a negative or weakly positive result;
  • bloody vaginal discharge;
  • constant dizziness;
  • cutting pain in the area of the ovaries and uterus;
  • increased body temperature;
  • lowering blood pressure;
  • pain in the lumbar region.

Unfortunately, this pathology has the same symptoms that accompany a healthy pregnancy. But still, in most cases, signs appear that will alert the woman and force her to seek medical help.

It is worth remembering that not a single pathological pregnancy of this kind has a successful outcome.

There is an opinion that after ectopic pregnancy the woman remains infertile. Experts say that this opinion is wrong. It is quite possible to get pregnant, the main thing is to listen to the doctor’s recommendations and set yourself up only for the good.

What are the first symptoms of a frozen pregnancy?

A frozen pregnancy is the cessation of development and formation of the fetus, in other words, its death in the womb. Fetal death occurs without any symptoms of miscarriage; it can happen at any stage and have a variety of causes.

Symptoms of a frozen pregnancy:

  1. Discharge. In the first days after the death of the fetus, they may be the usual white color, then, as the embryo decomposes, red streaks begin to appear in them.
  2. Stopping toxicosis. On the first day after the death of the embryo, the urge to nausea is present as usual; after 3-4 days they disappear.
  3. Change in well-being. After the death of the fetus, there is an increase in body temperature, sharp pain in the uterus and weakness.

As a rule, sensing something is wrong, the expectant mother rushes to contact her gynecologist. Fetal death can only be diagnosed by a specialist, based on ultrasound results.

Ultrasound indicators for a frozen pregnancy will be as follows:

  • the embryo's heartbeat cannot be heard;
  • the size of the fertilized egg does not correspond to the gestational age;
  • deformation of the ovum is observed;
  • the fetus is not visualized.

In addition to an ultrasound, a woman may be prescribed a blood test to measure hCG levels. The result of the analysis during a frozen pregnancy may be to identify a reduced concentration of hCG, or a significant lag from the norm.

It is impossible to get rid of a frozen pregnancy on your own; all attempts will lead to bleeding.

To summarize, we can say that ideally, it is better to plan pregnancy in advance, lead a healthy lifestyle and regularly visit a gynecologist. But even if such good news was not part of the plans for the near future, the woman needs to register on time and provide better health protection for herself and her baby.

And in the next video there is additional information about pregnancy symptoms.

In most all cases, women begin to suspect pregnancy only with the onset of a missed period. It even happens that the expectant mother learns the good news already in the second or third month. But by listening and taking a closer look at your body, some conclusions can be drawn much earlier.

Naturally, your guesses will still have to be confirmed by a gynecologist, who will make a final “diagnosis” only after an ultrasound. But it will be useful for yourself to know about pregnancy as early as possible, because in the first weeks the fetus is very sensitive to all factors: the lifestyle and habits of the mother will largely determine the health and life of the child in the future.

Symptoms of early pregnancy are often the same or similar for different women. But individual reactions of the body to changes occurring in it are often observed. We will help you deal with your well-being.

So, there is a problem if you have had sexual intercourse in the recent past and are now experiencing some of the following early pregnancy symptoms.

Characteristic symptoms of early pregnancy

Observations of a newly pregnant woman have been carried out for a long time. Long before the advent of ultrasound, our ancestors could accurately determine the fact of pregnancy, although there were cruel mistakes in this practice. Nevertheless, centuries-old experience is still used in everyday life. The reliability of the “diagnosis” is recognized even by gynecologists themselves.

The following reliable symptoms in the early stages will tell you that pregnancy has occurred:

  • Lack of regular periods. This is the very first and very likely symptom of pregnancy, which every woman knows about. But a delay in menstruation is not always a fact of conception. Menstrual irregularities can occur for a huge variety of reasons that have nothing to do with pregnancy.
  • . This symptom is relevant only for those women who maintain a BT schedule. It is not 100% proof that conception has taken place, but in general it is quite reliable. During pregnancy basal temperature rises to 37°C and above and remains at these levels.
  • Changes in the chest. For many women, the breasts become so sensitive that any touch to them causes pain and severe irritation. Even wearing a regular bra becomes simply unbearable! A woman may observe scanty discharge from the breasts - this is future colostrum. At the same time, the breasts fill up, become heavy, and may become covered with a venous network. Occasionally, spider veins also appear on the legs.
  • Mood swings. The woman becomes very vulnerable, whiny, and suspicious. She can flare up over any reason and become depressed because of a broken nail. Attacks of anger are abruptly replaced by outbursts of joy and fun. Along with increased breast sensitivity, women often attribute everything to premenstrual syndrome.
  • Runny nose. Nasal congestion in early pregnancy is explained by hormonal changes. Because of this, snoring may occur at night, and nosebleeds are also possible. Many women suffer from a runny nose until the very last days pregnancy: after childbirth everything goes away. It’s good if you recognize your pregnancy now, because a runny nose during pregnancy is practically impossible to treat.
  • Drowsiness, fatigue. A few hours before lunch you are already falling on your teeth. Neither coffee nor going to bed early the night before helps: you just want to sleep like crazy! At work they start making fun of you about this, but there is no increase in positivity: how to cope with responsibilities when you are literally in a semi-fainting state... Insomnia, which has now worsened, can also aggravate drowsiness: despite fatigue and weakness, sometimes it is simply impossible to fall asleep.
  • Malaise. In general, a certain weakness is felt: body aches, chills, and the temperature may even rise to subfebrile levels. Along with the previous signs, this picture is often perceived as the onset of the flu. It’s good if you decide to take sick leave, more rest won’t hurt you now.
  • Various pains. It’s unfortunate, but it’s a fact: with the onset of pregnancy, a variety of pains can appear. Many women note that they have pain in their head, chest, stomach, back or lower back, legs, arms... A certain danger is posed by nagging pain in the lower abdomen, accompanied by slight bleeding. If you suspect you are pregnant, you should consult a gynecologist: there may be a risk of miscarriage. But in general, such pain will accompany a woman throughout her entire life: the uterus is growing all the time and the ligaments that hold it stretch, which can be quite noticeable for the expectant mother.
  • Exacerbation of chronic diseases. In addition to all this, inflammatory processes hidden in your body can worsen. If you have previously suffered from kidney or other diseases, then with a high degree of probability they will make themselves felt now. One of the most common early pregnancy symptoms is thrush. Calf cramps also often occur, especially at night. Talk to your doctor and start taking calcium supplements.
  • Frequent urination. The uterus begins to enlarge from the earliest stages of pregnancy, putting pressure on the bladder. Aggravated genitourinary infections can also force you to run to the toilet frequently.
  • Pigment spots. Most often, nipple halos and the abdominal line leading from the navel to the pubis darken. But in general, pigmentation can appear anywhere. Many women one morning notice that their face is covered with brown spots: experts call this phenomenon chloasma, and people call it a pregnancy mask. You are unlikely to like this, but, thank God, this is not forever.
  • Bloating, constipation,... Disturbances in the digestive processes and functioning of the gastrointestinal tract will accompany the woman throughout the entire period of gestation. Some of the manifestations will appear in the very early stages: increased flatulence, a feeling of heaviness in the stomach, bloating, constipation or stool disorders, heartburn.
  • Change in taste preferences. Complete chaos is happening with your gastronomic preferences. In principle, each of us can crave strawberries or cherries in the middle of winter. But only a pregnant woman can dream about delicacies that you couldn’t stomach before. Often, a pregnant woman receives intense gustatory pleasure from a combination of incompatible products - this is already a fact... By the way, appetite can also change in any direction.
  • Enhanced sense of smell. It is not surprising that you can be very sensitive to odors in this situation. Your favorite perfumes just make you sick, and you’re the first to hear the milk running down in the apartment from the house opposite.
  • Nausea, . This symptom is the most popular among the people, although in reality it is not in first place. Many pregnant women actually experience early toxicosis, but not all and not always. If vomiting occurs too often and you begin to lose weight, you should immediately consult a doctor. Otherwise, there is nothing to worry about: look for ways to combat toxicosis.
  • Increased salivation. By the way, don’t be surprised if saliva begins to be released in large volumes: this is normal and will pass soon, but, of course, it still causes some discomfort: it’s okay when saliva flows out of the mouth during sleep, but often it just splashes during a conversation or laughter - the interlocutor may not like this.

Also in the early stages there may be a heavy discharge of leucorrhoea. If you have been tested for hCG, it will certainly be elevated.

“Strange” and unusual symptoms of early pregnancy

For young girls and women who may be pregnant for the first time, any of the symptoms may seem strange. But all of the above are classics, so to speak. However, each body is individual and can sometimes react to pregnancy very unpredictably. The following symptoms also occur, but are relatively uncommon:

  • the appearance of facial and body hair;
  • metallic taste in the mouth;
  • falling off of extended acrylic nails (they break off at the base);
  • the appearance of blush on the cheeks;
  • itching of palms.

In addition, each organism can behave completely unpredictably. If you observe any special symptoms of pregnancy in the early stages, then share with other women: perhaps this will help them recognize the long-awaited pregnancy in themselves.

As the period increases, if suspicions of pregnancy are confirmed, more and more new symptoms may gradually be added: itching of the skin of the abdomen, swelling of the arms and legs, and others.

We draw your attention to the fact that this is a list of symptoms of a possible pregnancy. They are not a reason to make an accurate diagnosis; only a doctor can do this. And you can even suspect pregnancy only by a combination of several of the probable symptoms. But we wish you that the result in any case turns out to be what you expect. Be happy!

Especially for- Elena Kichak

Changing breast size. Under the influence of the hormones estrogen and progesterone, breast size will change literally within a few days after conception. You will feel tingling, tenderness and heaviness in your chest. You may notice darkening of the nipples and areolas.

Spasms. You may feel them as the uterus grows and stretches. This is normal: stretched muscles react by contracting. (Tip: Try bending down and touching your toes. That's about the same thing you feel in the ligaments and muscles of your feet, you feel in the muscles of the uterus and the ligaments that support it.) However, if the pain is very severe or you are bothered by constant bleeding and cramping, immediately go to the doctor!

Fatigue. During the first trimester, you will feel very tired. Which is not surprising: your body is busy building the baby’s basic systems and organs. Rest easy, by the end of the first 13 weeks the fatigue will pass.

Morning sickness and odor sensitivity. Toxicosis of pregnancy usually begins in the 5th week, although it can appear earlier.

Frequent urination. The culprits of this inconvenience are the hormone progesterone and the pressure of the ever-increasing uterus on the bladder. The bladder muscles are stressed even if there is little urine in the bladder.

Lack of menstruation or minor bleeding. Light and brief bleeding may occur when a fertilized egg implants into the wall of the uterus.

Hair and nail growth. They may begin to grow “like crazy.” It's all hormones! It's okay - pluck and wax. No one wants to look like Bigfoot during pregnancy.

Only for dad. All these signs of pregnancy - changes in the expectant mother's mood, changes in the body and increasing fatigue - are a signal that dad needs to be patient. Be prepared for anything.

  • We can imagine how excited you are about your loved one's bust enhancement. But just try to touch it! Painful sensations in the chest are a standard manifestation of pregnancy. Some expectant mothers find it painful even to sleep on their stomach.
  • Your partner may be exhausted, especially if you are used to having sex frequently. “Assembling” a baby is not an easy task, and the surge of hormones can drive her crazy. Hold your horses! Watch sports programs or action movies in the meantime.
  • If your loved one feels nauseous, calm her down, walk her to the toilet, hold back her hair and never, ever show her your dissatisfied grimace. This creature bending over the toilet is the future mother of your child!

A modern woman, most likely, will not notice the onset of conception immediately after sexual intercourse, although, provided she has a developed sense of the body and a sense of the soul, as well as good intuition, this is quite possible. This lack of knowledge about the state of one's own body is due, in part, to the fact that for centuries pregnancy was so devalued that it was kept secret for as long as possible. Is it any wonder that over time this repression manifested itself in the way a woman experiences her own body.

The most characteristic signs of pregnancy can be divided into 3 groups: presumptive, probable and reliable.

Presumptive (doubtful) signs include mainly subjective sensations - sensitivity to odors, changes in appetite, nausea and vomiting in the morning. And from the neuropsychic sphere - nervousness, irritability, tearfulness, drowsiness. From the urinary system - frequent urination.

When examining the mammary glands, their tension and sensitivity of the nipples are determined. When pressed, colostrum is released from the nipples. During a gynecological examination, the cyanosis of the mucous membranes of the vagina and cervix is determined. Examination of the uterus determines softening of the isthmus and some asymmetry of the uterus.

Signs that reveal the presence of an embryo or fetus in the uterus are called reliable. This includes pregnancy tests, which cannot be false positive, cannot show pregnancy if there is none. This also includes a laboratory blood test for human chorionic hormone or its beta subunit. The most reliable sign is the presence of a fertilized egg in the uterus, on ultrasound, starting from one week of missed period. In the second half of pregnancy - determination of the height of the uterine fundus, during an obstetric examination - determination of the position and presentation of the fetus, its small parts, listening to the fetal heartbeat with an obstetric stethoscope from 23-24 weeks of pregnancy. On ultrasound, the fetal heartbeat is detected from 4-5 weeks.

Often the first sign of pregnancy is absence of menstrual bleeding. In this case, a hormonal test will help to understand whether the woman made the correct assumptions. At the same time, even the onset of bleeding does not give reason to confidently say that pregnancy has not occurred. It happens that even during pregnancy, bleeding can begin at term, although it will be much less profuse than usual.

The effect of the hormone hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) detected by modern tests soon after fertilization is also not surprising, and many women soon experience changes in the sphere of sensory sensations, for example, increased sexual desire. From a biological point of view, this makes sense, since now a woman needs to “tie” a man to herself especially securely. However, interest in sexual relations may decline as soon as a woman discovers that she is pregnant, for example if it is contrary to her wishes or if the woman has not yet been able to work through her thoughts and feelings about a previous miscarriage.

Extremely frequent are mood swings. For no apparent reason, a woman has a desire to cry. This tearfulness corresponds to the water-salt aspect at the body level and the Moon archetype at the level of the system of first principles.

Another early sign of pregnancy is swelling and tension of the mammary glands, which, in particular, is due to an increase in the amount of water retained in the body. The body may begin to take on unusual round shapes, which is also associated with weight gain. The body is trying to become round and healthy in order to grow to the state in which it in the best possible way will be able to complete the important task assigned to him. This phenomenon can also be observed at such a level of manifestation as an undoubted improvement in skin quality. It happens that the first hint of new life circumstances is a ring that suddenly becomes difficult to remove from your finger. In the morning hours, a feeling of swelling may occur, which is explained by the accumulation of more water during the night. As the pregnant woman comes more and more into the sphere of influence of the Moon principle every day, the night in her life becomes increasingly important, and the element of the soul also comes to the fore. Where it figuratively does not receive enough space, the body comes to the rescue, as evidenced by the tendency of the body to retain large quantities of water.

At the level of the soul, the swelling of the mammary glands corresponds to an intense “growing in” into the sphere of the feminine archetype, which finds its expression through the principles of the Moon and Venus. The desire to feed and the desire to please a partner (and thereby tie him even more tightly to oneself), due to the influence of the Moon and Venus, respectively, can manifest themselves at very different levels of life.

Increased and unusual fatigue may appear, but not necessarily. However, if the body requires a lot of energy to rebuild, the woman will notice it this way. It would be ideal if it could adequately satisfy the increased need for sleep, because by doing so it would help the body in the best way to gain the energy it needs to re-adjust all body systems. In addition, when the mother rests, the child has the opportunity to develop in the most optimal way. Subsequently, by the way, it also grows much better at rest than in the active phase.

Often associated with restructuring and occurring most often in the morning nausea represents a reaction to the increased production of hormones; in times when the feminine pole of life is given so little respect, it can well be considered a normal phenomenon. However, nausea will only bother a pregnant woman until the restructuring of the body is completed. The adjustment phase can last quite a long time (for recommendations regarding the use of homeopathic remedies and other measures, see the section “Nausea and vomiting” “Symptoms during pregnancy”).

Nausea during pregnancy occurs in much the same way as dizziness and seasickness. There is a collision between two internal information structures that are different from each other. The organ of balance signals to the “central control room” that the body is on a rocking ship, but the eyes look below the deck and see that everything is calm. Something doesn't add up. The brain realizes that it is being deceived, and as a result, the head begins to spin, followed by nausea and vomiting. In order for the condition to normalize, it is necessary to get rid of one of these information structures that contradict each other.

About the same thing happens in the body of a pregnant woman experiencing nausea. This feeling reveals the archaic feminine principle, the typical basal need for motherhood. A woman is likened to a female animal. If previously this woman put herself on the same level as a man, emphasized isolation and thereby moved more and more away from the ancestral ocean of the collective unconscious, now she suddenly finds herself under the crossfire of two archetypes. She has conflicting impulses, she tries to get out of the influence of one of the poles: she feels sick and vomits. This symptom takes root the more intensely, the more strongly the opposite poles in the psyche or the individual, courageous pole are expressed.

So, nausea indicates that a woman wants to get rid of something. Most often, she is opposed not to the child and pregnancy, but to that courageous part of herself that is at this stage should fade into the background. On the other hand, to survive without this part in modern world hard (think about what kind of man today would like to see next to him an extremely soft, labile woman who lives solely by feelings, near whom he must spend much more time and whom he must constantly protect?). Thus, pregnancy poses the task for a woman to immerse herself in the realm of the archetypal feminine, to be soft and emotional and at the same time remain fully armed, so as not to endanger her child and herself, not to give up her own independence.

Increased mucus secretions, associated with an increase in blood circulation, can sometimes also indicate pregnancy. All tissues of a woman gradually become more mucous, “juicy” and loose. A woman’s psyche can also become more shaky, but at the same time strong, which gives her the opportunity to reassure her man, who so often fears the pregnancy of his other half.

Hormonal changes also affect the vaginal environment, making it more alkaline. The vagina becomes less acidic and may be prone to discharge, which is usually not a problem. At the same time, the threat of vaginal infections increases. A pregnant woman should be especially careful and think more often about who and under what conditions she allows to be near her. If swimming in a public pool seems threatening to her, and using a public toilet is a provocation, then she should also be very careful when making direct contact. The light pale blue (liquid) tint of the skin in the area of the vaginal opening is due to the natural activation of venous circulation and should not cause any concern.

In rare cases, a sign of pregnancy may be pigmentation changes. Darkening of the halos around the nipples is completely normal. Later, these halos will indicate to the newborn his first goal and, at the level of archetypes, indicate a connection with the theme of feeding, which has already begun to gain strength in the life of a pregnant woman, but, nevertheless, will truly come into its own only after 10 lunar months. Less common are cases where along the midline of the body appears dark stripe, running from the hypogastric region to the upper abdomen. She seems to show the woman where her center is and where she should direct her main attention over the next months; In addition, such a stripe signifies the need to share and give.

Sometimes dark pigmentation can appear around the lips (note that this phenomenon is often underestimated), giving the skin a less than neat appearance. This can be interpreted as a hint that women should pay special attention to switching to “purer” forms of interaction and communication.

May occur bleeding gums. It indicates that the pregnant woman is in danger of losing vital energy along with blood. Gums symbolize basal trust, the importance of which is greater than ever in the first weeks of pregnancy. Through bleeding, the theme of initial trust manifests itself, in the development of which the exercises and meditative techniques mentioned above can help.

The need for iron for fetal hematopoiesis is satisfied by iron reserves in the mother's body. From a spiritual point of view, we proceed from the fact that an increased need for iron is characteristic of a child because he is preparing to enter the world of opposites. Let's just say he needs to adapt to life between the north and south poles. And iron is an element that “feels” best in the Earth’s magnetic field.

The increase in dental caries indicates that a pregnant woman should take more active care of her “weapon in the mouth” - her teeth, and first of all, more courageously and even aggressively strengthen her position. It is also important to get enough nutrients because emergency situations the reserves of the mother’s body will be sacrificed for the formation of the child’s body, which can take the form of real “poaching”. The folk wisdom that says that every pregnancy is worth one tooth clearly represents this relationship. However, today, a healthy and nutritious diet can make this sacrifice unnecessary.

Stomach and intestinal problems can also occur at the stage of restructuring of the body; they tell the pregnant woman that the new situation is not as easy to “digest” as her intellect imagines. Bloating may indicate aggression that needs to be freed from and which until now has not been able to find a way out. If a woman begins to emit an unpleasant odor and thereby evokes not the most blissful feelings in her partner, this can be regarded as a hint to both of them that something remains unsaid in their relationship - something that previously did not get a chance to express itself. In addition, a clear lack of integration mental strength of the partners becomes obvious.

The solution may be to release yourself from excess pressure in a timely and appropriate manner, find a source of courage and willingness to interact directly, and learn to speak your mind openly. It is about learning to eat and digest this world, an exercise called bhoga in Hinduism and Buddhism.

Pregnancy stretch marks(striae) in general appear quite rarely today. Thanks to complete body care and modern trend to maintain a relatively low weight during pregnancy, fewer and fewer women suffer from this type of stretch marks.

Relaxation of the uterine muscles in former times it was an important sign of pregnancy. The muscles become softer, so that they can stretch better. Enlargement is preceded by relaxation caused by water deposition and muscle cell growth. The masculine aspect of the musculature recedes, allowing the feminine aspect to expand and increase its readiness to receive.

If only she hadn't come!

The most obvious sign of pregnancy is a delay in menstruation - this is the case if menstruation previously came regularly.

Some women continue to menstruate during the first three months of pregnancy, but the amount of blood released and the duration of bleeding are reduced compared to normal periods. So if this happens to you, consult your doctor.

Most women also experience other pregnancy symptoms about a week after their first missed period or five weeks after their period:

  • swelling and tenderness of the mammary glands;
  • nausea and vomiting;
  • feeling exhausted and tired;
  • severe dizziness;
  • vaginal discharge;
  • changes in taste, strong cravings and aversions to certain foods;
  • frequent urge to urinate;
  • increased emotional vulnerability. Human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) and other hormones such as progesterone are responsible for the suppression of menstruation and these changes. Hormones are produced in a woman's body to maintain pregnancy and care for the growing embryo. A urine pregnancy test relies on the presence of hCG in the blood and urine to confirm pregnancy.

Urine pregnancy test

Don't rely on missed periods alone. To confirm pregnancy, a positive test and examination by a doctor are required. Ten days after a missed period, a urine pregnancy test can detect the presence of human serum beta-gamma globulin in the urine. This test can be ordered by your doctor, or you can use do-it-yourself tests sold in pharmacies, such as PFegcolour, TestPack, Gravindex.

When testing yourself, carefully follow the included instructions. To perform the test, the first morning urine must be collected in a clean, wide-necked container. A positive test result is almost always correct. A negative result may be due to the fact that the test is performed too early or is delayed by more than three months after PM. With the help of some modern tests, it is possible to determine pregnancy even before a missed period. But such complex tests are not usually required to confirm pregnancy.

As soon as you receive a positive urine pregnancy test, schedule a visit with your doctor.
